What are table wines?

Table wines are ussualy wines that don’t make the premim grade, this ussualy means its nothing speical but does not necessarily mean it is bad wine.

The term table wine was first coined in Europe and produced by the highest yielding vineyards.

Table wines have differnt names in different countries for example in France it is called vin de table wine whilst in Germany it is called deutscher Tafelwein.

Table wine was most popular in the 1950’s when wine consumption per capita was much higher abd there was a huge demand for cheaper wine, most table wine in Europe now ends up in famous wine lake.

In Australia table wine or boxed wine is often referred to as goon and mostly purchased by younger people 18 to 25 year olds for its great value for money.
